Mr. Burgoyne has 25 years of experience in civil engineering design, project management and construction engineering for public works infrastructure, downtown redevelopment and commercial and residential development projects. Michael has a wide range of design and project management experience for both public and private clients.
Mr. Burgoyne has an extensive background in construction administration, inspection and engineering materials design and testing. He has performed inspections for earthwork and soils, asphalt and Portland cement concrete paving, and pipeline construction and was the resident engineer for several successful large scale, multi million dollar, public works infrastructure projects including bridges, utilities, and roadway construction.
Recently, Mr. Burgoyne was the project manager and primary design professional for the Sparks Effluent Pipeline, the Truckee Meadows Water Authority Northeast Feeder Main and the Victorian Square Plaza projects. Michael's design expertise includes hydraulics, hydrology and site design.
Michael graduated from Northern Arizona University, cum laude, in 1982 and was awarded the State of Arizona, Senior Engineer of the year award by ASCE. Michael and his wife Pat moved to Reno in 1989.
Mr. Burgoyne is registered as a Professional Civil Engineer in the States of Arizona and Nevada and is a current member of Construction Specifications Institute, CSI and the International Erosion Control Association, IECA.
Michael specializes in contract documents and technical specifications and is a certified "Contract Documents Technologist" by CSI. Mr. Burgoyne also believes in the use of computer design software for efficient and cost effective design, plan and contract document preparation. Michael is proficient in the use of Autodesk, Land Development and Civil Design, Watercad, Autoturn and HEC2.
Michael has provided design, construction administration and inspection services on projects throughout northern Nevada, including Reno, Sparks, Battle Mountain, Dixie Valley, Elko, Fallon, Fernley, Gardnerville, Incline Village, Montello, Orovada, Silver Springs, South Lake Tahoe, Topaz Lake, Truckee, Wells and Yerington.
